For my project I wanted to completely change how I study. I chose to use the book “A Mind for Numbers” to learn new strategies to achieve this goal because it seemed to go over every aspect of how to learn and do well in school and was even geared more towards science students like myself. Broadly speaking, I had two main takeaways from this book (although there were several other specific strategies that it went over). They are learning to form new habits and use them to your advantage and “chunking”, the process of how your brain learns, processes, and stores information and how to make these “chunks” strong so you are able to use them later. Guided by what the book said, I developed several strategies that worked well for me and kept track of these mainly by using a weekly/ daily planner and a time blocking planner.

Managing Your Procrastination
The purpose of this project was to decrease my procrastination by improving my time management skills and increase productivity. This book helped give me many ways to improve all three while keeping me engaged. Many little activities helped me understand my priorities and what’s keeping me from starting my work, keeping me from staying on task, and why I’m not able to focus. This book helped me immensely improve my study habits.
How to Stop Procrastination
Can you relate to being late to places all the time or doing things at the last minute? I realized I had a procrastination problem when I didn’t achieve my goals that I would set every year. I also found myself being late to many places I needed to be. Luckily this can be overcame with a few techniques I have learned. The book I selected is called, “Relent Less Focus”. This book relates to my goals because I have a hard time accomplishing my goals due to procrastination. I have an academic goal and a fitness goal. I have to be focused and organized to complete my goals and they book helps with that as well. All this advice and techniques I will talk about come from the book I mentioned above. The main goal I had was to become more organized and to stop procrastination.
