In this project, I set out to become a better studier. I did this by developing good habits and a good routine. The book Hack Your Habits was a big help to me in pursuing these goals. The time tracking website/app “toggl” was used for most of my goal tracking.
Productivity at its Finest
How can we request for more time? Simply twenty-four hours a day is not enough. This is the reality of the issue. However, of course, each and every one of us has different goals and obstacles we must overcome and there are several ways to approach this.
The Medication to Procrastination
For this course project, when asked to identify a goal I wanted to accomplish by the end of this semester, I knew right away what I needed to work towards—procrastination. I can’t tell you how challenging it has been for me to accomplish this goal of cutting procrastination completely out of my life. I still sometimes struggle with handling all the distractions in my life and pushing them all away so I can get my work done. The experiment of using tracking methods made the biggest progress for me in pursuing my goal. Physically writing down things I had to do instead of just looking at Carmen was an immense help. In my Course Project Takeaways, I described to the reader what day-to-day procrastinators struggle with, all the obstacles I faced, the book I chose and why, the lessons I’ve learned, the strategies from the book I used, and I also incorporated all the steps I took in seeking out my course project goal. I now not only realize that this is a course project goal, but also a life goal. I cannot keep procrastinating my whole life, it could be detrimental.
Enhance Focus and Kick Procrastination
The purpose of this project was to create a goal that could be tracked and measured. To achieve this goal, an inspirational book was chosen to provide tips and strategies to implement into your life. These strategies were tracked for three weeks. After the tracking was complete, the project challenged you to reflect on how successful you were at reaching your goal. Finally, using your results and experiences, you explain the takeaways or lessons that were learned. The takeaways can come from the book, your tracking, or your own personal experiences throughout this project, but the purpose of them is to encourage you, and others, to implement these strategies into their lives.
