Productivity Journey and Tracking

I decided to do a podcast. I brought on a good friend of mine, Cooper. Cooper has struggled with some of the topics I wanted to address in my podcast so he was the perfect candidate. Throughout the podcast I grill Cooper with questions about his journey to being productive and I also share with him and the audience some of the things I have done and learned through this class that have made me more productive. During this, I explain to him about the book I read and some of the tracking techniques*I used to track my progress to becoming more productive. Overall, I surprisingly had a lot of fun completing this project and I hope some of the listeners enjoyed it and also learned something

Tracking Examples

TRACKING EXAMPLE 1

Journal entry 1

  • I have heard great things about this book; however, I am skeptical if it will actually have an effect on my life.
  • I normally do not make my bed in the morning and can’t see it changing my everyday life that much
  • My mind however, does sometimes feel a little unorganized and I believe this book could help me with that

Journal entry 2

  • The first thing he mentions in the book is how much of an impact the little things in life can have
  • I am going to try and start making my bed every day to see how it makes me feel
  • I am still very forgetful about certain things so hopefully reading more of this book and implementing some strategies will help

Journal entry 3

  • Some of the anecdotes in this book are incredible
  • The things Admiral McRaven talks about in the book are things he has actually experienced and learned from
  • I am starting to feel a little bit more organized from making my bed everyday but it is still early on so I am going to continue to give it a couple more weeks
  • I feel slightly more clear minded and more productive

Journal entry 4

  • Admiral starts to talk about the importance of having a positive attitude.
  • Gives personal antidotes on how positivity has affected his life in real world examples.
  • He gives a conclusion and starts to reiterate all of the important things he has talked about in the book.
  • I feel as if this book has absolutely had an impact on my life. I will need to keep my new habits going.
