Broadly, the focus of my course project was to identify ways that I can become more productive in my work. As I’ve moved through my Ph.D. program, I’ve realized how valuable efficiency is. Because one of the main focuses of A Mind for Numbers was procrastination, I decided to identify strategies that reduce procrastination. In doing so, I hoped to spend time writing every day!
My Attempts to be Smarter, Better, Faster
In the midst of the busiest summer I can recall, I set out to boost my productivity at work. Using four key strategies from Charles Duhigg’s book Smarter Faster Better, I now am better able to appreciate why I am doing things, to recognize the moral and intellectual support that come from working on a team, and keep emails from running/ruining my life.
